我的老师

我的社会课老师是一个美国人。他的名字是 vicki 姓 rogers。她在新加坡美国学校上学工作。他在新加坡美国学校教八年纪社会课。

dr. rogers 有一个孩子。她的儿子教 kasey 姓 rogers。很多的人觉得 kasey 很矮可是他们也觉得 kasey 很帅。每天 kasey 去小学上 幼儿园学很多的东西。dr. rogers 很高兴因为 kasey 喜欢很多的运动所以他不胖，可是 dr. rogers 要 kasey 吃很多的东西因为他不要 kasey become 很瘦。dr. rogers 也是很高兴因为 kasey 很友好，他最喜欢笑！

一天 dr. rogers 告诉我和我的学生，“在春节我的爸爸妈妈来我的加持很多的东西。” 因为 dr. rogers 告诉我们他过春节，我们要知道 dr. rogers 的爸爸妈妈是哪国人？dr. rogers 的妈妈是一个新加坡人，可是他的爸爸是一个美国人。

很多的人问我， “dr. rogers 长得怎么样？” 我告诉他们 dr. rogers 是一个女老师，长得很高也很漂亮！我也觉得 dr. rogers 的样子好看。她的头发不卷也不很长，她有短的头发。很多的人问我 “dr. roger’s 头发什么色的？” 我告诉他们，dr. rogers 的头发棕色的。dr. rogers 的眼睛很大，也是棕色的。她的鼻子很高，不大不小。他没有一个眼镜，可是她的妈妈有蓝色的眼睛。她的嘴巴不大不小，她也最喜欢笑。

很多的人问我，“dr. rogers 很酷吗？” 我告诉他们，“dr. rogers 很酷。她只给我一点点地做作业和简单的考试。他也喜欢很多的运动，他最喜欢跑步。” 很多的人也问我，“dr. rogers 让他的学生重考考试？” 我说，“她让我们重考很多的考试。”

一天我不来学校努力复习考试，所以在考试的时候我不知道些什么。明天收到考试的时候，我哭了。
dr. rogers 问我： “anya 为什么你哭了？” 
我说：“因为我不及格考试。”
dr. rogers 说：“我可以帮你？”

我说：“你可以让我重考吗？”
dr. rogers 说：“可以！可是你又来我的课努力复习，因为我不要你不及格考试。”
我说：“谢谢你！明天课间休息的时候我可以来你的课复习？
dr. rogers 说：“可以!”
明天我去 dr. rogers 的课努力复习。因为他帮我努力复习，我几个考试。谢谢 dr. rogers! 你是一个很好的老师！

Unit 3 考试的故事

mary 就来新加坡。她的爸爸妈妈要她去新加坡美国学校上学，上八年纪。因为 mary 就来新加坡美国学校， 她不得不要去校长的办公室聊天，所以 mary 去校长的在 办公室。
校长说： “你好 mary， 你觉得 sas 怎么样？sas 是很好的学校吗?"
mary 说：“您好校长，我最喜欢 sas！”
校长 说：“好。你可以去辅导员的办公室聊天，因为你要选你的学年主课和选修课？
mary 说：“好，我可以去辅导员的办公室。”

Mary 去辅导员的办公室。
mary 说：“你好辅导员我叫 mary，校长要我来聊我的主课和选修课。
辅导员说：“你好 mary，我叫 mrs. abrahams。你对什么东西感兴趣？昨年你的成绩好吗？”
mary 说：“我对中文感兴趣。我也觉得音乐很有意思。昨年我的成绩很好，我有很多的 a’s。每天放学后，我努力复习因为我要考试及格。若果我考试不及格我可以重考吗？”
辅导员说：“若果你的考试不及格和你的学生说考试很难，你可以重考。可是，若果考试很简单，你不可以重考。
mary 说：“你知道我的班主任是谁？你知道什么选修课我可以选？”
辅导员说：“你的班主任叫 ms. fulcher，很多的学生告诉我 mrs. fulcher 是很好的班主任。在 sas，一个学年，你不得不上五主课和三个选修课。可是在 sas，一个学期，你也只要选两个选修课。只个学期你可以选跳舞课，音乐课，还是西班牙语课。
mary 说：“我的五个主课是什么？”
辅导员说：“主课是：英文课，科学课，数学课，体育课，和社会课。你要选什么选修课？“
mary 说：“我要选中文课，和音乐课。

然后 mary 和辅导员聊天，他去看看 ms. fulcher。mary 要问 mrs. fulcher 很多的问题。问题是：一般一节课多长时间？在课间休息我可以吃什么？sas 有什么课外活动？通常学生几点要做作业？什么老师教得很好？若果学很多的西班牙语简单？从我的家到学校我要四十分钟坐校车吗? ms. fulcher 不在学校因为他生病，所以 mary 觉得明天她可以问 mrs. fulcher 很多的问题。

Unit 2 SAS 的选修课

SAS 有很多的选修课。SAS 有做饭课，跳舞课，音乐课，电脑课，戏剧课，中文课，法语课，西班牙语课，和日语课。音乐课，中文课，法语课，西班牙语课，和日本课都是两个学期的选修课。做饭课，跳舞课，电脑课，和戏剧课多是一个学期的选修课。

如果你不喜欢你的选修课你可以去辅导员。中学的辅导员叫 Ms. Abrahams， 他是很好的辅导员。如果你要换你的选修课，她可以帮你。

有的学生觉得做饭课很有意思因为他们喜欢吃东西，可是有的学生对做饭课不感兴趣因为他们的朋友不在做饭课。做饭课的老师叫 Mrs. Ferguson 很多的学生说她教得很好。我觉得做饭课简单因为我们没有作业。

跳舞课很有意思。在跳舞课我们做很多。我们做 hip hop 跳舞，jazz 跳舞， contemporary 跳舞，lyrical 跳舞，等等。跳舞的老师叫 Mrs. Rodocker。我觉得他教得很好。我对跳舞课感兴趣因为跳舞老师教得很好。我觉得跳舞课简单因为我们也没有作业。

音乐课很有意思可是我觉得音乐课很难。我觉得音乐课很难因为音乐课有很多的作业和在音乐课你不得不唱歌很好。一个音乐课老师叫 Mrs. Symes。Mrs. Symes 是我的美美的班主任。我的妹妹告诉我 Mrs. Symes 是很好的老师和他很有意思。

戏剧课的老师教 Ms. Fulcher。我觉得 Mrs. Fulcher 教得很好，所以我对戏剧课感兴趣。在戏剧课我们坐很多的东西。可是我们有很多的作业和有很好的成绩很难。

中文课也很有意思。我觉得大家的学生不得不选中文课因为 如果你可以说中文你可以有很好的工作。在中文课我们写很多故事和有很多的考试。SAS 有很多的中文老师，他们叫：xia 老师，两个 zhang 老师，gao 老师 和 phan 老师。在六年级和七年级我的中文老师叫 zhang 老师。我觉得 zhang 老师是很好的老师。在八年级我的老师叫 xia 老师。我觉得 xia 老师也教得很好。

我不知道西班牙语课和法语课很好的可还是不好的课，可是很多的我的朋友在法语课。他们告诉我在法语课他们看看很多的电视，可是他们有很多的作业。

Modern Day Slavery

Our unit was called Civil War to Civil Rights in which we learnt a lot about the 17th to 18th century slavery in America. One activity we did was mimicking the process of cotton picking and the punishments that followed if you didn't clean enough cotton. This task helped me understand the realities of slavery and the inhumane treatment that came with it. For example, slaves would have to work through the hot summer days from dusk to dawn trying to pick at least 200 pounds of cotton, they barely had anything to wear, they were only addressed by the Christian name their master gave them, and if they even picked a couple pounds less of cotton the overseer would be sure to have them whipped.

Also we moved on from the 1700s and 1800s slavery we started to learn about modern day slavery, and in my opinion modern day slavery was just as bad or maybe even worse that the old slavery. In the high school there was a photo gallery depicting examples of modern day slavery that made me feel horrible. One painting in the photo gallery that really struck me was of a little girl who was beaten and then put into a bath tub filled with hot water and cut chiles. I don't think that anyone of us could relate with the pain she must've felt. After seeing this picture I was furious- how could anyone beat an innocent, naive, little girl and then to make things even worse stick her into a bath tub filled with excruciating pain? What did the little girl do that was so terrible that she deserved to be treated like this? Didn't her master have a heart, how could he/she just stand there and watch?

As we were learning more about modern day slavery, I came across the story of a man named Miguel whose son got cancer, but he couldn't pay for the medical attention off the salary he was earning in Mexico so he decided to go to the U.S. Unfortunately, he didn't have the cash to pay for his journey to America so he accepted an offer to get a ride "now" and pay "later". Miguel was then enslaved in the orange groves of Florida. As an enslaved human being, Miguel and his other fellow workers were threatened with violence every day. Miguel's form of slavery bonded slavery. From the moment he agreed to get on the ride to Florida, Miguel was charged with fees for everything- food, water, shelter, etc. Adding everything up you would find that Miguel would really never be able to pay his debt, and so would probably forever be enslaved in the orange groves of Florida. 

One solution to modern day slavery around the world is being a conscious buyer. Before you buy something, ask the people selling the product questions and find out if it was made by slaves. You can also boycott companies and products that rely in slavery. Or maybe even organize a fundraiser that helps raise and donate money to anti trafficking foundations or any other foundations that are trying to put an end to slavery. You could also start or sign a petition that asks governments to crack down on companies and cases of slavery with more authority. Even calling a hotline might do the trick. Anyone can call 1-888-373-7888 or 1-866-347-2423 (The National Human Resource Center and the U.S. department of Homeland Security) to report a human trafficking case or suspicious behavior on the topic. Lastly, governments should cancel some debts for people eligible for people eligible for welfare, gross and net income, size of the family, any crisis situations such as medical emergencies, pregnancy, homelessness or unemployment. For example, in Croatia the government made with major local banks leading telecom operators, the four biggest Croatian cities and several public utility companies, will cancel the debt of about 60,000 of Croatia's poorest citizens. I feel that governments cancelling the debts of people who are struggling financially will help eliminate people getting enslaved into bonded slavery.

学校的一天

每天早上六点我起床。起床后，我洗脸，吃早饭，和坐校车。在校车我一边听音乐，一边看书。每天八点我来学校。

来学校后，我看看我的课表。每天我有很多的课。我的课表有很多的主课。今天我的主课是体育课，社会课，和英文课。明天我的主课是科学课，数学课，和英文课。

每天主课后，我有课间休息。我不知道课间休息多长时间，所以我问我的同学。他告诉我课间休息从九点四十五分到十点。

课间休息后，我有副课和选修课。我的福课是中文课。我的选修课是戏剧课。明年我希望我可以上做饭课因为我最喜欢吃东西。

我喜欢上课。我最喜欢上体育课和社会课因为这个课有很好的老师。我也喜欢我的班主任，她叫 ms. fulcher。我的社会课老师比我的体育课老师和班主任好很多。

我也不知道一节课多长时间，所以我问我的同学。他告诉我一个主课九十分钟。他也告诉我一个副课和选修课四十五分钟。

每天三点新加坡美国学校放学。放学后，我有课外活动。我和我的好朋友有一样的课外活动。我们有时候跳舞，有时候打篮球。

去年，我的成绩不好。我的妈妈和爸爸很生气，所以他们告诉我，“你不得不去补课。” 现在我成了很好的学生。
